Established in 1909 and headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, NOFMA: The Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association is the only organization to establish and actively enforce grade rules and quality standards for most domestic species of wood flooring.
NOFMA establishes quality standards and inspects member mills regularly to ensure those standards are being upheld. Our trained mill inspectors visit each certified manufacturer at least once each quarter. During these inspections, they review overall processes and pull sample pieces from the line to check for proper configuration, moisture content, average length and grade. Mill inspections also include a warehouse inspection to ensure that the product being shipped also meets NOFMA standards.
Only NOFMA-certified flooring carries the assurance that comes from the NOFMA grade mark. When you choose NOFMA certified hardwood flooring, you are not only purchasing a new floor for your home, but you are protecting your investment. Quality is assured and support is guaranteed.
